Setting up a company

Mainland or free zone: which is right for me?

It depends on where your customers are and what you sell. Mainland companies can trade directly across the UAE market; free zone companies suit international trade and specific sectors. See the mainland and free zone comparison; we compare both for your activity in the first consultation.

How long does company setup take?

Timelines depend on the activity, the jurisdiction and how quickly documents are signed. Your setup plan lists each step and its expected timing before you commit to anything.

Do I need to be in the UAE to set up a company?

Many steps can be prepared remotely. Some, such as biometrics for a residence visa and certain bank meetings, need you in the country. We plan your visit around them.

What do you need from me to start?

Usually passport copies for shareholders, a passport photo and a short description of the business. We send a checklist specific to your activity after the first call.

How much does setup cost?

Costs depend on the jurisdiction, licence type, office solution and number of visas. We give you an itemised quote with your setup plan, so you see government fees and our fees separately. Read how setup costs are made up.

Visas and documents

What does document clearing cover?

Preparing, submitting and following up government applications for companies and individuals: licence renewals and amendments, visas, permits and attestations. More on our PRO and document clearing page.

Can you help with visas for employees and family members?

Yes. We prepare and follow up visa applications for employees and, where eligible, family members, and keep track of renewal dates.

Will you remind me before my licence or visas expire?

Clients on ongoing support get reminders well before expiry dates, and we prepare the renewal paperwork in advance.
